Celebrating Cleo

Happy 6th Birthday to our Cleo! It was so fun looking back to when we first got her. I can't believe how little she was.
Still giving her lots of love every day!
A tasty ice cream treat to celebrate her special day.

Savannah and Mason - 1 Year!

Mason was scheduled to present his final poster right at the end of July so Savannah joined him in Missouri for the last week of his internship and presentation. Since it was their one year anniversary at that time, they also enjoyed a fun weekend in St. Louis.

Ciara's 12th Birthday

What a blessing to live so close to family that we can celebrate Ciara's birthday multiple times throughout the day! Because she would be at dance most of her birthday, the family met for breakfast.
Happy Birthday to the cutest 12 year old around!
Later that evening we were able to take her a gift, David's caramel popcorn, and get some hugs.

Dave and Therri Visit!

Dave and Therri arrived on a Tuesday evening and we wasted no time getting started on visiting some local sites. My mom had suggested the Harmon Museum in Lebanon several times as a great little museum so Wednesday we checked it out. It did not disappoint! First off, we were greeted by the Director of the Museum who was so nice and explained so much about the history of the museum. As we wandered around we were amazed at how much stuff they have!
Aviation is a big deal around here due to the Wright Brothers being local boys.
Some space history as well.
They had a bunch of old time vehicles, including this mail carrier.
Of course lots of agricultural stuff...
and environmental finds.
Some very interesting toys.
An old time school room.
And of course, the Underground Railroad.
They had this whole "town" set up that included different stores and shops.
An original cabin from that time period.
A Johnny Appleseed tree!
And a variety of grapes that were grown by the Shakers, lost to history, and then rediscovered by the efforts of several people, including the Director of the Museum who we had talked to at the start!
Dave is very interested in the mounds so later that evening we headed over to Miamisburg where an ancient mound is located. I had no idea!!
Dave and Therri stayed below but David and I made our way to the top where we encountered beautiful views and a really strange dude.
Last stop of the night - Rita's! It was new to Dave and Therri and, no shocker here, they loved it!
