Youth Activities

Our callings with the youth keep us busy! We did a great service project cleaning up an older couple's yard...

my class had an Easter egg hunt...

and all the young women embroidered temples on a white handkerchief in preparation for waving them at the Colunbus temple dedication.

Officially a Ute!

After A LOT of discussion, pondering, and prayer, Xander has decided to attend the University of Utah! I must confesss that at first I was a little sad because I would have loved for him to stay closer to home and attend Mount St. Joseph and play football but apparently when David and I set out to indoctrinate our kids with a love of the U, we did a smashing good job! He told us that the U just felt right so we feel good about it. Now, where to find tuition money?!?!? Anyway, to celebrate we did a mini photo shoot sporting his Utah gear!

Noah Turns 16!

My baby is 16!! So hard to believe! Football and wrestling keep him busy because studying for school certainly does not! He enjoys yelling at his friends as they play video games ("Shut up! No, you idiot!) His artistic talent continues to amaze me though I'm so sad that he doesn't like me taking pictures of his drawings. He is extremely witty and has been known to say some inappropriate things. He loves camping, collecting knives, and listening to Rock n' Roll. He is looking forward to getting his drivers license so he can run out and grab food whenever he wants. He has such a tender heart and whenever I ask him to do something, he says "I got you." As I always say, he's the sparkle of our family and he definitely keeps life entertaining. 

What has become a birthday tradition for him - staying home from school though he did go to lift. Absolutely can NOT miss that, ha ha!

He's very much into working out and trying to bulk up so several of his gifts reflected that interest.

April 16th - A Special Day

Xander received his patriarchal blessing today and it was so incredibly special.

Mom came up that evening to award the Schaeffer family March Madness tournament winners with their certificates and money.

Finally!!! After years of being off the podium I made it back on!

We also celebrated Noah's birthday which was the following day.

Mom made him the cutest candy poster!!

Spring always means a stuck lawn mower...at least once!

and time with Mason. We're beyond excited for these two because they have decided to get married. The official announcement won't come until they're "officially" engaged but the planning has begun and the date will be July 27th!!

Easter 2023

What a beautiful Easter Sunday! I love that the blossoms are starting to show and the weather is getting a tad bit warmer. We had to grab some family pictures after church.

And Savannah even sent me some Easter pictures of her and Mason.

Later that day we headed over to the Clarks for a delicious Easter dinner.

Heidi had everything decorated so beautifully, as usual.

Heidi pulled out her beautiful china for our Easter feast.

Heidi and Ryan's good friends the Lunts joined us which was a lot of fun. The kids table...

and the adults, which McKenna found herself at this year.
