Keeping Busy in September

Always lots of fun activities going on in the fall! Ciara cheers twice a week so we try to hit all her home games.

It's always fun when the teens show up!

I've been doing a 3 week sub job for the global foods cooking classes. Other than the one night of high anxiety before our first cooking lab, it has been such a fun job! I love the kids and have been having the best time with them. Lab days have become my favorite! Had to take a picture of some of my favorite football players in 4/5...

and then my favorite football player in 9th who spends a lot of the lab pulling up a sit!

I've told Noah that his group is so lucky to have Bryce who actually knows what he's doing. Bryce basically carries them each lab.

At least Noah does a great clean up job!

The team meal this week was hosted by Abbie and Stephanie. I told them later I should have crashed it.

Another night of cheer!

We have the most beautiful sunsets in Ohio.

We didn't have school on a Friday so our Book Club met for lunch and discussion that day. For September we read The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. We all enjoyed it though we agreed that it wasn't exactly what we were expecting. The redhead club was probably my favorite mystery.

Celebrating Heidi

To start off Heidi's birthday we headed to Taste of Belgium for breakfast. It was delicious!

We then headed to the high school to watch Kellan's football game. Earlier that morning Noah had struggled with whether or not he was going to stick out the rest of the season. The night before had been really tough for him but ultimately he decided to head to practice. He was late leaving which was quickly pointed out to him by Carter who was waiting for his ride but off he went. We showed up just in time to see the last few Varsity runs.

Although this is not the most flattering picture of Noah, I'm so glad I captured it. Coach Ullery noticed Noah's demeanor at practice and pulled him aside afterwards for a talk. The thing I love about Coach Ullery is he's a straight shooter unlike some of the other coaches. He tells it how it is. It was in this conversation that Coach Ullery told him that he was willing to split the reps between Noah and Swaney during the week and they'd see how things go.

At halftime we walked around and for some odd reason found ourselves up by the panther.

So of course we had to do some silly poses.

Later that afternoon we headed over to the Clarks for further celebrations, or as we like to call it, a rager with the teens. The rager included hanging poolside with Heidi...

Football Week 4 - Wayne

The day before the game against Wayne Noah found out that one of the injured O lineman had been cleared and would be starting Friday night. Noah wasn't sure what that meant for him and was hopeful that he would get some playing time somewhere. At team meal he once again sat with the O line though his time might be up with them.

Family meal was at Noodles with Ciara being given the honor of taking the family selfie.

I had been given permission by the principal to set up a table for Wreaths Across America for Military Awareness Night. Heidi was a great advertisement until we got our table.

I had a few other DAR members show up to help...

and even the Springboro panther showed his support. I don't think we were very successful in getting people to sponsor a wreath but it's always good to raise awareness that this organization exists.

There was a flyover during the national anthem!

The game went really well for our team, however for Noah, not so good. He divided his time between O line...

and D line but just on the sideline. The only playing time he got was as part of the field goal unit.

Although we came away with the win, it was not a good night for my Noah and left him with a lot of strong emotions and uncertainty about himself as a player as well as what he wanted to do.
