Noah never thought he would be playing offensive line his senior year. Halfway through last season he was switched to a new position, D line, and, despite his inexperience in that position, he was determined to play on Friday nights. He set goals, worked hard, bulked up, watched a lot of film, and gave 100% at every lift and practice. Two weeks before the season started this year, the O line coach came calling. Our offensive line was plagued with injuries and needed someone to help out. Noah loves his team and wanted to help so he made what we thought would be a temporary switch.
Turns out his run on the O line has been permanent. There's been a lot for Noah to learn this season, playing a position he never has before, but he has put in the same effort, hard work, and determination as he did when he thought he'd play D line. When I asked Coach Ullery about grabbing another Pierce for his O line, he responded, "Well, it worked really well the first time." And just like with Xander, it has for Noah as well. Funny thing is, with the talented D line we have, Noah probably would have spent most of the season on the sideline. What a blessing this opportunity has been for him and we are so grateful to Coach Ullery for giving him a chance. And there's nothing quite like the O line brotherhood and I'm so glad Noah got to experience that.
Monday Noah received the Offensive Lineman of the Week award for his play in Friday night's playoff game. We are so proud of him!!
