Finishing Up October

Finished up my long term sub job! It was so much fun!

The rug! Mr. Pohlman, the teacher across the hall, has this rug in the entryway of his classroom and every day I watch students trip over it as it gets progressively more bunched up...and no one ever stops to fix it! So it became a joke between us because it irks me so much! On my last day of subbing, when I opened my classroom door, there it was, all scrunched up, begging me to trip over it, ha ha!

Friday night lights! It was a cold one as we took on Miamisburg for our very last game of the season.

One of my favorite freshman students, Ace.

We came away with the win and ended up with a 7-3 record and a bye for the first week of playoffs.

Kellan's last JV game of the season. For some crazy scheduling reason, we ended up playing on Miamisburg's crappy junior high field.

And boy, was it cold! Hangin' with Kellan's girlfriend Zoe.

We kicked their bootie but poor Kellan hurt his hand during the game. It was incredibly swollen and bruised by the end of it. 

But what a great season he had! He started on the sideline but when the opportunity came, he made the most of it and had some really big plays throughout the season.

When Tricia comes to visit we become the Sunday lunch crew.

Love, love, love my book clubs! Especially when Heidi pulls out her readers!

Our History Book Club read this month was Landscape Turned Red by Stephen W. Sears and it was excellent!

Feeling the Halloween vibes for our Classics book club - Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

Halloween was a very ho hum experience this year. No kids at home, Clark kids off with their own friends, took an hour to get our pizza, and in total 7 trick or treaters at the door. Very low key.

At least we had fun people to hang out with!
