Cupcake Wars

It poured and poured the entire 4th of July, keeping us all inside, scrambling for things to do that didn't involve swimming, parades, BBQs, or fireworks as originally planned. One of the things we decided was that the next day we would head up to the Clarks house and have Cupcake Wars, boys vs. girls. So part of our rainy 4th was spent in teams, looking up cupcake recipes and deciding which ones we wanted to make. Friday morning we arrived at the Clarks, and after a quick stop at the grocery store for ingredients, we were ready to start the war!!!
I promised Heidi that I would not post her "Cupcake Wars Kickoff Jump" but I'll just say that it got both teams fired up. In one corner was "The Cupcake Divas"...

And in the other corner, "The Spiders".

For the next few hours we all worked hard, pouring...

sifting...

smashing...

mixing...

posing...

licking...

frosting...

filling...

decorating...

and having fun.

Until at last, voila! Each team made two different kinds of cupcakes. Team Spiders presented a Cheesecake Cupcake as well as a S'mores Cupcake.

The two cupcakes from the Cupcake Divas were the Chocolate Banana as well as an Apple Pie cupcake.

Everyone ranked each cupcake, number one being their favorite down to number four as the one they liked the least. After all votes were in, the cupcake voted as The Ultimate Cupcake of the first Pierce/Clark Cupcake Wars was...

Yes, the beautiful, most amazing, extremely talented and gifted cupcake makers - the Cupcake Divas!!!

On a side note, David was extremely bitter about their Cheesecake Cupcake coming in second and still believes that it was the better cupcake. However, the people spoke and they believed differently. There is always next year, Team Spiders!
