For New Beginnings this year the girls chose a football theme. We had a great time getting everything together, including fun decorations, player cards, and team t-shirts.
Some of our cute young women - Ashton, Savannah, Carolyn, and Sami.
The two announcers for the night!
Our new "recruits" got to break through their very own personalized paper poster and run through the tunnel as they joined our team. The new girls loved it!
Our program then kicked off with Elizabeth playing The Star Spangled Banner on her flute - one always has to have the national anthem played at sporting events. Next up was one of the highlights of the night - awarding various young women ribbons for completing Personal Progress values. Savannah received her Virtue ribbon which she earned by passing off all 4 requirements in that value as well as reading the Book of Mormon.
New recruits were then introduced by some of the young women; Savannah got to spotlight Kennedy.
Next up was an explanation of each of the Young Women values; Savannah spoke on Choice and Accountability.
To close the night's festivities our "coach" gave some closing inspirational remarks. This was David's first official church event as a new bishop and he did a great job!
All of our young women, including the upcoming Beehives. A small but definitely fantastic group of young ladies.
And of course we ended the night with football fan favorites: meatballs, chips and salsa, cookies, and Gatorade.
