The Wedding

Savannah's day started off early with bridal festivities - breakfast and the long process of hair and makeup for the bride and all the bridesmaids.
The wedding started at 5:00 in the evening and boy, was it hot and humid! As we sat there waiting for the ceremony to begin, I could just feel the sweat dripping down my back. Thank goodness there was plenty of water and even some little hand fans. We sat in the back so we could get video and pictures of Savannah as she came out. She was so nervous about tripping or falling as she walked down the aisle but she was matched with Griffin, a friend from high school, who's a pretty big guy so I told her to just hang on tight to him. She went with an updo, which I thought was a wise choice considering the heat and humidity. Plus, she looked absolutely beautiful!
She did such a great job you couldn't even tell she was wearing a brace.
The beautiful bride!
Her older brother officiated and the vows they wrote for each other were very sweet. We've known Michaela for so long and it was wonderful to watch them get married.
Hanging out for a bit, catching up with our friends the Finnegans and enjoying the scenery before dinner.
Our shirley temples hit the spot!
Time for pictures!
All of us were seated for dinner and then the bridal party was introduced. Each of the couples tried to do a little something when they walked in - I thought Savannah's and Griffin's was the cutest.
Anna, a fellow bridesmaid, and Griffin and Mikey, two friends from high school.
Dinner was absolutely delicious! I passed on the crab cake but everything else was perfection.
Another groomsman, Nate, who was a student of mine when I subbed at Edgewood. He was a great kid and it was so fun to talk to him and hear about how well he's been doing since high school.
What happens when you hand your daughter your phone for a bathroom break!
Enjoying some time outside.
Savannah did some dancing at our table, we enjoyed the chocolate covered strawberries, and then we tried to grab a few pictures with friends.
Cutting the cake...
and then it was time to say our goodbyes.
I'm so glad that we were able to be here for this special event! It truly was a beautiful wedding.
