Life in the YW

I LOVE my calling in the church!! Serving in the Young Women and working with the youth of the church is the absolute best calling in the whole church!
Some of my recent favorite activities include:
Learning how to make those really cool designed cookies! Kristal, Carolyn's aunt who just happens to be in our ward as well, is a master at it and was able to help us do a pretty decent job on our own designs.
Great concentration by Carolyn!
Some of my cute Mia Maids and Melissa. We have such a great time together!
I was pretty proud of my cookies although my lip design was all over the place. Good thing I took this picture because both David and Savannah stuck their fingers in the frosting to see if it was hard yet...it wasn't. Pre-finger attack perfection!
A Stake YW Sports Day that included volleyball,
yoga,
hangin' with good friends, fun "get to know you" games, lunch,
soccer outside, though I didn't get any pictures because I didn't want to freeze, and basketball.

The ward YW leaders got to be the coaches and, as one can see, Melissa got very into it!
Group shot!
Ethnic Night where all the young women brought a dish from a country of their ancestors or a country they were interested in. I was so impressed with the girls' culinary skills! Everything was so tasty!!
A campfire with just my Mia Maids. The activities just don't get any better than this - sitting around a fire on a chilly night, eating smores, and talking about life.
I love this lady! She totally rocks!
Literally! We were listening to music and this was her rocking out on her leg guitar.
Love these girls - Melissa, Ashton, Sami, Carolyn, and me.

Bye, Bye Braces!

My last appointment reminder!
And, after what seemed like 10 long years of uncomfortable eating and constant mirror checks, popping advil like candy and hiding my smile, but was really only an extremely drawn out 19 months, those horrid braces came off. I honestly couldn't stop looking at my new teeth! I"m all smiles now! (Except where the heck did all those eye wrinkles come from?? Yikes!)

St. Patrick's Day truly was a lucky day this year!

St. Patty's Day 2016

Each year Noah is determined to catch a leprechaun on St. Patrick's Day and each year his traps get increasingly more creative. What leprechaun could resist this comfy little room to spend a wee bit of time in?
There's even a little friend to past the time with...
as well as a pot of coins.
Well, the trap proved ineffective once again. Those leprechauns are just too sneaky!! Noah, thank goodness, wasn't too bummed.
He and Xander were excited to wear their rugby shirts that Grandma and Grandpa Schaeffer brought them all the way from Ireland!
The boys enjoyed a St. Patrick's Day breakfast with green juice...
and green waffles!
Our traditional St. Patty's Day dinner got pushed to Friday because David was out of town on the 17th and he definitely wanted to be there for our yummy corned beef and cabbage!
Top of the morning to you, laddie!
A wee Irish lad with his pot o' gold.

Spy Night

Cue the Mission Impossible music - it's Spy Night for the March Pack Meeting!
Getting ready for some target shooting with a little help from Doug Wine.
Zero in on those targets! Watch out, Sister Wagner!
A few last minute tips from Evan...
and Noah is ready to blast away!
Something to think about...

Honing their sneaking skills in the laser room.
Try not to get zapped!!
Figuring out the hidden messages with Sister Jordan.
Invisible ink can sure be tricky!
Decoding with Brother Hockaday...
and fingerprints with Brother Gebski.
My little spy!
Finishing up a very fun evening with some James Bond style cocktails.
