Joining the DAR

Mom and Kelly have both been members of the Daughters of the American Revolution for years and have always encouraged Heidi and I to join. With so many other things going on in my life I've never really had the interest. But then Heidi started talking about how we should join and we got the process going and attended our first meeting in December 2021. I was super excited thinking that Heidi and I could do this together and get involved in doing some good things through this organization. And then Heidi never went back! But I have continued to go and in May 2022 I was sworn in, along with 2 others, as the newest members of the Jonathan Wright chapter.
I'm so proud to be a member of this wonderful organization that is committed to historical preservation, patriotism, and education.

Mother's Day 2022

It was so wonderful having all three kids home with me for Mother's Day! To start the day they made me a delicious breakfast.
A rough patch of the day was that I was one of the speakers in sacrament meeting. I have an extremely strong opinion about mothers being asked to speak on Mother's Day but I went ahead and did it. I guess it wasn't so bad because the topic was one that I loved - mothers in the scriptures. For the second hour all the women got to gather in the gym and enjoy cheesecake and hanging out with each other.
When we got home I made the kids pose for pictures with me, hee hee!
We headed over to the Clarks for a special Mother's Day meal and entered a horror house instead! That Ciara is sure scary!
Enjoying even more dessert!!
We headed outside for a fun photo shoot!
I struggled to get up...
so Savannah jumped in to take my spot!
Love my cute Mama and sister.
Mom sure knows how to play!
Always a fun time when we get together!

Savannah is Home!

Savannah is finally home and this summer she gets to stay! Unfortunately her flight arrived right around the time President Biden was going to be leaving Ohio after visiting for an afternoon so we ran into a shut down right after we picked her up. We were able to leave the airport and were almost to the entrance of the freeway when the police stopped all traffic. We sat there for about 45 minutes while the area was secured and then watched the police escort and the presidential motorcade approach the airport. When we were finally allowed to drive on, as we crossed the main highway we looked to our left and caught a glimpse of Air Force One. At least that was a cool side note. We stopped first at Mom's so Savannah could spend some time with her and Uncle Bryan.
Then we headed back home where we treated her to dinner at Sake. Delicious as always!
It's just so nice walking around the house and seeing her face!
And it's fun for her to have cousins to hang out with!
We are so looking forward to having our Sav home for the summer!

Savannah's Moab Adventure

When Savannah's spring semester ended, she decided to spend a few days with her grandparents up in Salt Lake but they decided to spoil her and take her down to Moab instead. They had a great time hiking and even doing a river rafting trip. She loved the time she got to spend with them and I'm so glad she got the chance to see such a beautiful part of Utah. These are some of her favorite pictures from the trip.

April into May

A beautiful sunny day to celebrate Noah's birthday as well as Easter...and then the next day, snow!
Despite the very non-spring like weather, we painted flower pots for our YW activity.
Getting some pretty cool sub jobs!
Enjoyed a couples trip to the Indianapolis temple.
More spring like weather and cheering on Kellan at flag football.
A warm enough day to lay out by the pool.
My stylin' gardners!
Witnessing a murder at mom's house.
And the wonderful dessert date nights continue!
