The Air Force Museum

One day during Spring Break Noah and I headed up to Dayton to visit The National Museum of the United States Air Force. It was awesome and had so many cool things on display. I've included pictures of some of our favorite things.
The famous poem by John Gillespie Magee Jr. At the United States Air Force Academy it has to be recited by memory by fourth class cadets.
The Early Years Gallery, including the Wright Brothers and WWI.
Squadron emblems of WWI.
As we entered the WWII gallery, hanging on the wall was this beautiful quilt with individual squares designed by students commemorating the Holocaust.
The plaque reads: "Perhaps the rarest artifact in this exhibit, this concentration camp uniform is one of very few still in existence. It was given to the exhibit by Jack Bomstein, whose father Moritz, wore the uniform while he was imprisoned at Buchenwald."
This flag flew on the USS St. Louis at Pearl Harbor during the Japanese attack on December 7, 1941.

Ha ha, we couldn't resist!
The Bomb Mission symbols denote the number of missions carried out by the bomber crew.
Thank goodness we were able to spend time inside because it was a chilly, windy day!
After the museum we finished up with a book and a frap at Barnes and Noble. The perfect Spring Break date with my Noah!
