Memorial Day Fun 2014

I think if one was to compare our Memorial Day blog posts from the past few years a person would see the exact same pictures, just all of us a bit older from year to year. Our Memorial Day activities have become very traditional but it's only because we love absolutely everything we do that day.
We always arrive at our Ward Breakfast a little early so David can join with the other High Priests in cooking pancakes. We have a bunch of this exact picture - David with now President Brady. It was much cooler when they used to wear their Utah/BYU t-shirts; David changed it up this year.
This year, while we waited for breakfast, the kids got involved in a fun volleyball game.
Maybe we should sign Sav up for some volleyball!
Enjoying some yummy food; Xander especially loves the sausage!
David had a great time playing some bball with the young men.
And of course Noah hung out IN the water. Several people came up to David and I expressing concern that Noah was actually swimming in the bay but that's why we had him wear his bathing suit. Noah's a little fish and it would be quite a feat to keep him out of the water! We also had him wear his flip flops; no cut up feet this year!
And when he's not going for a swim, he's involved in a water fight!
One of my favorite activities that we did at the Breakfast was a tossing game that the Wines brought. I don't know the name of it but it was a ton of fun. Probably it was more fun because of who we played it with. We divided into men versus women: me, Elinor, Tracy Scott, and Kendal against David, Doug, and the Haskell's son-in-law and his young son. The trash talking was in full force and the wins kept going back and forth.
I was doing pretty well until the Haskells' grandson parked himself right behind the bar where I was throwing (which we had repeatedly told him not to do) and I nailed him with one of the balls right in his face. After that I was pretty worthless.
Savannah played soccer with a bunch of the older kids.
A little digging in the sand...
and another trip down to the water.
We got home just after noon, rested a bit for the afternoon, and then headed over to a nearby school to meet up with friends for softball and BBQ.
A nice lead off for stylin' little Noah!
Good food...
and good friends makes for another fun and memorable Memorial Day.
Couldn't resist adding this one...Noah is just too much!

Lovin' Our O's!

What's a fun way to spend a beautiful Saturday afternoon? Go to a baseball game, of course!
This time we went with our good friends, the Maxwells. We always have a great time together! On a side note, this has got to be one of my all time favorite pictures of Miss Libby.
Noah and his cute little friend, Brinley.
Let's go O's!
One of the few moments of the game where we got to cheer...our O's were having a tough time.
Caught Adam Jones blowing one of his infamously huge bubbles.

Awww, little Darbs. We all love her!
Although our O's got their booties kicked, we still had a fun time together.

Field Day

Field Day was held on the most beautiful day this year. Last year the kids were stuck inside due to heavy thunderstorms and the year before that we were all drooping under the extreme heat and humidity but this year was absolutely perfect. We truly have had such a wonderfully long spring this year!
I got to watch Xander and the other 3rd graders run around, participating in all kinds of fun outdoor relays and activities. Xander had a blast!
Gettin' some air!
Xander is definitely an athletic guy but the hula hoops gave him some trouble. I always struggled with them as well; must be in the blood.
He finally gave up and decided it was much easier to just twirl it around your arm.
Back to some relays which these boys were obviously very serious about!
Enjoying a nice cool treat to end the fun!
Lucky for me the 1st grade had their field day right after Xander's 3rd grade. No hanging around waiting for me...here comes Noah!
Noah and his best friend Ava.
Get ready, get set, GO!!!
Running the bases with a smile on his face!
Noah had a much easier time with the hula hoops.
But he decided it was much more fun to jump through them.
Here come all the fun relays!
Coolin' off with some yummy freezie pops!
