Hard to Say Goodbye

One last breakfast in our beautiful island home!
We went aroud and took pictures of Deja View so we would never forget this amazing house!
The outdoor shower. It came in handy after all our long beach days.
Our bedroom.
My early morning journal writing spot as well as our night time conversation hang out location.
The lower deck.
Xander grabbed his own room for the week...
and about half way through Noah grabbed one as well.
The fabulous kids' room!
The pool!
David made sure to get in for one last swim.
I'm definitely going to miss this view!
One of the iguanas made sure to say goodbye!
And just like that we were back at the dock, ready to start the journey home.
We weren't too happy about it.
Goodbye, beautiful St. John! I hope we make it back some day!
Despite sitting on the upper deck, outside, well away from other people, we were made to wear masks for the ferry ride to St. Thomas.
David and I tend to be a bit rebellious, ha ha!
One final look back at the islands. Oh, how hard it is to say goodbye! What an amazing vacation!!

Day 7

During the night we had a massive storm! The wind sounded like a freight train and there were massive amounts of thunder and lightning. Despite it being 3:00, I ran out on the deck to experience it. There was more rain in the mornning...
but thank goodness in the islands it doesn't last long. 20 mintues later clearer skies had moved in...
and an hour later we were sitting on Maho beach. Our last full day on the island turned out to be a lovely day!
Snorkeling, which was amazing, as usual. SO MANY sea turtles, a little shark (I was the only one who didn't see it) and Xander and McKenna saw some manta rays farther out!
Playing in the sand,
and more photo shoots.
Apparently we were the only ones to get the memo about black swim suit day! We said we were in mourning that it was the last day.
I got some great pictures of my cute Xander.
The kids spent the morning preparing for McKenna's wedding to Maho but then ended up not doing it. Instead they floated around, ate, did tons of swim jumping on the surface of the water, and tried to stay away from the massive amounts of people that showed up around 1:00. Seriously, it was the most people I've ever seen on St. John.
As for the adults, we floated around in the water, talked a lot about our kids, and relaxed!
Despites the hordes of people, we thoroughly enjoyed our last day on the beach. Kickstand even made an appearance; it's almost like he wanted to say goodbye, ha ha!
We were greeted by this guy as soon as we got home.
We hung out in the pool and hot tub until around 5:30.
We headed for Trunk Bay for the evening and passed the time taking pictures...
until the pizza arrived!
And that's when the attack began!
It was like being in the Hitchcock movie "The Birds"! Savannah's slice was knocked out of her hand, they took Ciara's crust and flew off with it, and when a horde of them chased after Kellan and surrounded him, he decided it was safer to just throw his pizza slice at them and run to safety!
David fought back with a pizza box!
After the pizza and the birds were gone, the kids did races down the shoreline and then showed off their Baywatch running style, played in the water, and we all grabbed some beautiful sunset pictures.
The night time view from our deck.
We finished the day off with pina coladas in the hot tub!
