St. John 2020 - Day 1

There was a lot of questioning whether we should still take our trip to St. John. Dad had decided he just wasn't feeling well enough to go so he and Mom would not be joining us. It was so hard even thinking about being there without them but since the house was paid for, Dad insisted the rest of us go. Although we were excited for the vacation, it definitely put a little damper on the trip.
We stayed overnight in DC since our flight was so early. Unfortunately I got one of the worst migraines I've ever had and couldn't even lay down for awhile because it hurt my head too much. Finally, after 4 excederin migraines in 1 hour, it eased up though I did not get much sleep.
David was a complete stress case! He was convinced that something was going to go wrong, we'd miss our flight, etc, so, needless to say, he didn't get much sleep either.
But guess what? Everything went well and we made our EARLY flight no problem.
We had a layover in Atlanta and in Georgia we weren't required to wear masks in the airport. We happily took ours off though many kept theirs on and some people were really haz mat suited up.
The beautiful sight of the islands! We landed in St. Thomas.
Our driver to the ferry was a man from Jerusalem and we really enjoyed talking to him. We were a little worried about catching the 4:00 ferry to St. John but made it in plenty of time.
Finally, we're back in St. John!
Our house for the week - Deja View! It is absolutely stunning! It sits high up on a hill/mountain and the drive up was a bit scary with lots of small roads, sharp turns, and straight up inclines.
The view is spectacular!
The Clarks and Bryan had already arrived so we caught up with unpacking and helping put groceries away. Time to get this vacation party started!
We spent the evening swimming in the pool,
relaxing,
taking in the view,
ordered pizza for dinner,
posed for lots of pictures,
and enjoying some jacuzzi time!
It got dark pretty early, around 7:15 or so, so the adults hung out on the upper deck laughing and talking about politics, funny people on interviews, etc...
while the kids hung out in their big room, watching TV and having fun being together.
