Day 5

Middle of the night scare - I woke up around 3:00 thinking I heard someone outside and I definitely saw a moving light. It's not like these homes have fences around them! I ventured outside to make sure everything was okay and realized the flickering light was coming from the TV in Heidi and Ryan's room which is right next to ours. Phew!
Despite the freak out in the wee hours, I still had a wonderful morning sitting on the deck eating breakfast and writing in my journal. Bryan ususally joins me around 7:00 and this morning Savannah joined me as well.
This early morning view just doesn't get old!
Another morning of extremely tired vacationers! I actually had to go wake up the kids! We spent the day at Hawknest and it was absolutely beautiful!
Getting creative, ha ha!
Now this is the life!
The kids really enjoyed climbing on the nearby rocks!
Taking pictures of my cute Sav...
and then the photo bomber arrived!
Oh, Uncle Bryan, he always makes us laugh!
The morning turned south when a bird pooped on me! And then there were some other mishaps that were battling against our perfect day - the Clark's car tires showed a problem with air pressure so we were worried about flat tires, Bryan's phone got submerged in water when he forgot it was still in his pocket and stopped working, and worst of all, while Ash, Noah, and Kellan were climbing on the rocks, they all got sea urchin spines in their feet, Kellan getting it the worst. Poor little guy had to sit on a raft the rest of the day.
But, other than those few hiccups, the day was fabulous! Lots of floating, building sand castles, reading, and taking naps. And the snorkeling was awesome! We saw tons of colorful fish, patches of live coral, purple fronds swaying, 2 lobsters, a barracuda, a sea turtle, and fields of sea urchins.
I even got a few fun pictures with David!
We left the beach around 4:00 - what a day!
Tonight's dinner was at the St. John Brewery at Mongoose Junction. The kids had a blast sitting with Uncle Bryan who had them all laughing a little too loudly; I enjoyed the Mahi Mahi tacos which were soooo good!! We did a little shopping and then topped off the day with some ice cream.
Well, some of us did. Others chose not to and were a little sad about it later.
I grabbed pictures tonight of the kids' bunk beds. I love how each one has a pictures of a different St. John beach. This house truly is amazing!
