Kilgore Falls

We started off our second week of summer by joining the other Activity Days girls and their families in a hike to Kilgore Falls. It's not exactly a hike, more like a walk through some beautiful nature. But there's a cool rock path across a small stream and of course there's the waterfall. Although the day was pretty mild with regards to temperature, the kids had no problem getting right into the freezing cold water.
What a fun group of girls, ages 8 to 11.
Savannah is such a good sister to Noah.
Xander spent most of his time with the other guys - underneath the falls. I did catch this one picture of him before he headed back for some more thundering water on his back.
I am so grateful that Savannah has such wonderful friends.

Unfortunately our morning was cut short by a massive thunderstorm. It was quite the adventure getting back to the car in the pouring rain and I swear we headed back on a different trail. Where the heck did all the hills come from? And it seemed to go on and on and on...We still had a great morning and will definitely go back before the summer is through.
