It's hard to believe that my baby is 12! His birthday was made even better because we were heading out of town for spring break so he didn't have to go to school. Smiles all around for that!
And he got to open all his presents in the morning - double bonus!!
Some of his favorites included this Yon-Rogg pop...
Avengers: Infinity War...
and that excited look says it all...
Oregon Trail! He can't wait to die from dysentery. Yes, he's a different kind of child.
Socks from Savannah...
and a couple Lego sets, including this big one.
The Clarks sent a sweet text and picture from Florida where they are enjoying their spring break.
Time to hit the road! Mystic, Connecticut, here we come!
Getting through NYC was the only time we hit traffic.
The birthday boy picked sushi for lunch. Yummy!!
We finally arrived in Mystic around 4:00, not giving us much time to look around this cute little town which was a bummer. There's a whole lot more I would have loved to explore.
We did get a few nice pictures down by the water...
and then headed into town for some Mystic Pizza. As you can tell, Noah was absolutely thrilled.
I've wanted to come to Mystic ever since seeing the movie Mystic Pizza! They had the movie playing in the restaurant and it was so fun just being there.
We each got our own pizza, all of them being super tasty. We finally convinced Noah to eat something; he was feeling a little sour over the fact that they didn't have root beer floats which he wanted to celebrate his birthday. He had to settle for just a plain root beer.
After dinner we wandered around town, checking out the beautiful views and the little stores.
We had way too much fun than would be expected in this military clothing store.
Absolutely no Russian collusion.
The Mystic River Bascule Bridge.
And guess what? We finally found Noah a root beer float!
Plus he got to swim at the hotel.
Day One of spring break was definitely a fun way to celebrate our Noah's 12th birthday!
