Football Week 6 - Springfield

Friday team feed is always one of the highlights of my week!

Wow, there was some crazy weather going on Friday afternoon! The rain and wind were so intense we weren't sure if we'd even have the game. But I should have known - these high school coaches are crazy and weren't going to cancel anything! So, we braved the storm and headed up to Springfield which of course is almost an hour away. We had ordered Jersey Mike sandwiches to go and when I went to grab them, the store's power had gone off just after they finished putting our order together. Phew! We sat in the car and ate them, hoping the weather would die down a bit before the game.

And miraculously, it did! They postponed the game 15 minutes and during warm ups and up until about the 2nd quarter, the weather was great. Cloudy and a little windy but no rain.

And then the downpour began! The wind picked up again and was blowing rain all over the place. We had umbrellas but they weren't proving very effective. Oh, well. We were in good company and just kept cheering on our boys! Noah and Lukas continued switching off series so Noah got lots of playing time.

Despite a really great effort by our players, Springfield ended up winning. There were some terrible calls that could have made a difference but I guess it's just all part of the game.
