Getting to hang out with teenagers every day is one of the greatest blessings of my life! A lot of people think I'm crazy when I say this but it's absolutely true. They're full of dreams, goals, lots of stories, big time drama, thoughtful questions, and strong opinions. I'm hearing "sigma" and "skibbidi toilet" with the freshmen class and in the next period the seniors are sharing college acceptances and their excitement about life's next great adventure. They make me want to tear my hair out one minute and then have me laughing the next.
One of my most favorite students, Lizzy, made a family of ducks in her sculpture class. During the creating process we laughed at this little guy's lopsided head and lack of a neck. When she presented him to me as a gift, I couldn't stop smiling. Yep, teenagers are the best, especially this one. They just make life better!
