Wrestling - JV GWOC Championships

GWOC championships was a little frustrating this year. Noah had dropped some weight during the season so he toyed with the idea of wrestling at 215 instead of heavy weight but in the end decided to stay with heavy weight. Unfortunately this year there were a lot of fatties and the weight difference was just too hard to overcome. We still had a great time watching him compete in the last wrestling matches of his career.
He was so proud of his cauliflower ear! Ugh!
His first match was against a kid from Beavercreek who basically hung on him the whole time rather than actually wrestle. There was a pretty big weight difference but Noah held his own, only losing by 1 point. Unfortunately Noah got hurt in this one.
Lachin getting Noah pumped for his second match which was against a wrestler from Fairmont. Noah won with a pin in the first round.
Noah's final match of the day was against this true heavy weight from Northmont. Things went just fine for awhile but then the kid rushed him, was able to get Noah on the ground, and there was just no getting up from that kind of weight on top of him.
I know Noah is relieved that the season is over. He's had a great four years, has learned so much, has become so much stronger and skilled, but his true love will always be football. Still, we are grateful that his freshman year he decided to give wrestling a try. It has been a highly enjoyable four year ride!
