Hershey Band Competition 2019

The annual Hershey band competition! And, crazy enough, it's my last one with Xander. We started the day off bright and early, meeting at the school at 5:30, and then heading up to a college up in Pennsylvania. The kids grabbed a few extra minutes of practice time...

before heading on into the competition.

We were all so proud of them. They did a fantastic job!!

That fantastic job earned them a superior rating!

Now, off to Hershey, the favorite part of the day!!

I got to chaperone this lovely group - Teme, Xander, Wisdom, Kelechi, Celine, and Madison . What a great group of kids! We had so much fun together.

For the kids, the best part of the day was that Kelechi had a brace on her leg and got a special pass that allowed her and two of her friends to bypass the long lines and get right on the rides. These kids got to ride absolutely every roller coaster in the park several times.  What a treat, especially for me since I'm usually sitting there with the bags for over an hour in the hot sun.
