Birthday and Game Day!

Happy Birthday to David! It also happened to be Game Day, the first game of Noah's senior year! I had to grab a picture of him in his jersey before he headed off to school.
Clarks were representing as well!
Since it was David's birthday, I didn't work so we could spend the day together. We spent some time doing our new favorite thing - painting!
On our way to lunch David got a birthday Facetime call from Rich Paul and Chris Maxwell who just so happened to be relaxing at the beach. Jealous!
Sushi lunch!!
Trolley moms are back at it! Friday team feed!
It's become tradition for Aidan's grandpa to smoke a lot of chicken for the first meal and, not only is it extremely generous, the boys love it!
Love being back with all these fun moms!
Third year as "dressing girl".
The trainers!
Seriously, feeding these boys has been one of my most favorite things these past three years!
Me and my No.
He ate with the D line...
but still met with the O line just in case.
David chose Mission BBQ for his birthday dinner/pregame family meal. Mom is off galavanting in Norway with Tricia but Bryan came up to cheer for Noah.
A birthday phone call from Xander!
We are so ready for this! First game of the season against Little Miami.
Noah did warm ups with the O line. I think he's not completely sure where he'll be used, he just wants to play.
Got the pregame hug (senior year!) and went over to show some love to his senior banner!
And so it begins!
Noah's pregame prayer, joined by Mattias.
Noah wasn't needed on the O line like he originally thought and unfortunately Coach Grothjan was not rotating the D line very much either so Noah spent a lot of the game on the sideline, definitely NOT where he wanted to be.
No matter his playing time, we will always be Noah's biggest fans!
He did get in for a couple of plays in the first half and some in the second half. Thank goodness I had hired Bill Garver to take pictures of Noah in the hopes he'd get some playing time in this first game. Bill always gets such amazing shots!
We ended up kicking Little Miami's bootie, winning 31-0. Noah looks super happy on the sideline with his teammates and there was definitely some dancing and celebrating in the lockerroom afterwards. It's great to start the season with a win!
However, when Noah got home, he was clearly disappointed in his play time. He has worked so hard to play D line on Friday nights and now he's being switched around between O line and D line, not even knowing where they want him and clearly not getting the time on the field that he was so hopeful for. It's looking like this might be a long season.
