One Last Hurrah!

Monday, August 24th - for our very last summer adventure we headed off to Hammerman Beach for the day. We are always first to arrive since I'm a little paranoid about getting the spot I want so the kids have to exercise great patience until friends show up. Really, it's not so bad...they have the water to hang out in!
And sand forts to build.
As friends started to arrive, that sand fort got bigger and bigger...
and bigger...
until it was quite ginormous!  The kids did a great job on it!
Noah loved hanging out with little Paul,
guarding Emma who the boys kept as prisoner in the fort (she loved it),
and turning himself into a sand monster.
Grrrr!
It was a wonderful way to spend a summer day. As usual, the moms dipped toes in the water to cool off but mostly spent our time chatting in the shade
while the kids fully enjoyed the water!
Goodbye, beautiful summer! You've been fabulous to us!!
