Hangin' With Heather!

My wonderful friend Heather was back in town for a week and we were hopeful that we'd be able to go on all kinds of fun adventures together. But when you only have a week to visit and there are a million people who want to see you and spend time with you, it's understandable that we ultimately only got a day and a half together. One morning we took the kids to Rock State Park. This is what arctic cold water on your bum feels like!
Eventually, though, these kids always seem to get used to it and have a fun time.
We love coming to this beautiful spot and that morning we had the place to ourselves.
Snack time!
Sophie was the first to build a little fort...
and then Noah decided to up the ante.
Those are definitely some fortified walls!
Some quick pictures before moving on to our next spot. The kids were just getting to know each other so there's still a little awkwardness to the shot, ha ha!
Love this sweet friend of mine! Oh, how I hate that she lives so far away!
We went up the road just a bit to the 'jump rock'. Noah got right in there to show Ryan and Sophie how it was done.
Sophie was a little nervous about the depth of the water and getting up onto the rock so Xander was sweet enough to help her.
Our cute kids!
Getting their jumps on!
We were lucky to grab a few final pictures and head out right before the rain hit!
Of course it's always difficult for my boys to just take a normal picture.
Three days later and we were back together, this time hitting up SkyZone!
The kids absolutely loved doing this jousting activity, so much so that another mom complained to one of the employees that our kids were hogging it and needed to get off. Oops!
The winner...for the moment!
Trying to make it up that wall.
After SkyZone we went to the mall where Heather had to pick up some stuff. We had lunch and then did a little shopping. Sophie caught a great picture of me and Heather checking out shoes...
and I got this picture of our patient boys. We figured we're just training them how to be good future boyfriends and husbands!
