Basketball, Basketball, Basketball!

March is always a month filled with basketball, especially with our fun Schaeffer March Madness tournament. For our boys March was a time to finish up their rec league. Neither boys' team made it very far in the playoffs which truly wasn't a huge surprise. We're just happy to finally be done with this season...it hasn't been our favorite.
First playoff game for Xander's team was a close one and we were able to come away with the win!
Second game was also close until about seven minutes left in the game. We went down by about 15 points and rather than encourage our boys to stay in it and work hard, our assistant coach told our boys to just stop playing and basically cede the game.   David walked out, he was so upset, and I don't blame him one bit. I was so disgusted! Just so typical of this team and the coaching and how upsetting this whole season was.
Always so proud of my Xander, though, and the effort he put in all season long. He never gave up!
A little more enjoyable was young mens church basketball, especially because the boys got to play together! We had a good little team but fell short to Susquehanna. Most of the teams in the stake understood the importance of letting all the boys play and giving them opportunities to go up against young men that were their same age.
Noah getting in there and fighting for the ball!
Look at Noah go!
Playing against some of the older priests, Xander wasn't always the tallest out there so he got an opportunity to play on the outside as well which is fun for him.  He loves to take the outside shot from time to time!
Hangin' with their buddy Gerell with Harrison photo bombing in the back.
For our FHE one Monday night we went into the city to cheer on Rayshod in his playoff basketball game. It was a nail-biter and a lot of fun to be there! Unfortunately they lost by 1 point.
