We Made it - SUU!!

September 3rd - the day Savannah could check into her dorm. The Bullocks took us out to breakfast...

and then we were on our way, the last leg of our journey. When we got to SUU we unloaded her car and started unpacking. Savannah quickly realized how small her dorm was compared to the amount of stuff she had, ha ha! We met her roommate, Jennifer, who seems super sweet and one of her suite mates.

In the evening we grabbed some tropical smoothies and headed up the hill to see the Cedar City temple.

Since there were no hotel rooms available in Cedar City, we stayed in St. George and every morning and evening we would make the 45 minute drive back and forth. It's definitely a different kind of beauty out here.

Over the next few days we shopped, walked the campus, bought her books and school supplies, got her mail key, set her up with everything she needed, and checked out Cedar City.

Almost 4:00 and St. George is super hot!!

We did have a little fender bender in the Walmart parking lot, dang it!

And we got to see the St. George temple though it's obviously under renovation.

All too soon it was time to say goodbye. One last picture of my cute girl in her dorm room...

and then one last selfie. It was definitely hard to drive away from my Savannah.

In fact, I texted her right before I got on the freeway and when she hadn't responded after 5 minutes, I was thinking of heading back because obviously she had been kidnapped or had some other terrible thing occur. Of course all was well and I continued on my way back up to Salt Lake for lunch with the Bullocks and then to catch my flight back to Maryland. What a fun road trip getting Savannah out to SUU and I just know that she is going to have a wonderful time!
