Friday night lights for Xander's team which means only a few pictures.
Cheering on their brothers!
Memories of this game - (1) The mean grandma from the other team standing behind our team and "cheering"/yelling the entire game. Coach Chris finally told Jesse to get his mom to go stand by her and drown out grandma with her own loud voice...which she did, ha ha! Who would have thought a grandma would do that? At one point words were exchanged between parents and even one of our coaches but she didn't care...she kept right on doing her obnoxious thing! (2) Xander got hurt; a player from the other team rammed their helmet right into his shin. Xander struggled off the field and then collapsed on the sideline. Thank goodness it wasn't a serious injury and by the end of the game he seemed to be okay but he did not go back in. (3) At the start of the 4th quarter we were down 20-7 and ended up coming back to tie up the game which is exciting enough on its own but it gets even better! (4) In overtime the other team went first but we were able to hold them at the two yard line. We were up, and on 4th and 2, Savion tried running it in but hit a brick wall. Before being tackled to the ground, he tossed the ball back to Nate who was standing behind him and Nate ran wide and in for the touchdown and the win. It was one of the most exciting finishes I have ever seen! They definitely deserved a tunnel after that!
I love that everyone was there to support Xander!
The next day it was Noah's turn!
Working hard on the line.
Unfortunately his team was not as successful this week and ended up losing 16-6.
