December YW Activities

One of the most tiring nights of the year is our YW service to families in December. Parents can drop off their kids for the evening and go Christmas shopping or our to dinner or back home for a nap while the young women (and the leaders) watch their kids. It's become one of those traditions we do every year now and the girls have a lot of fun with the little kids.
There are always a few of the youngest ones who don't enjoy us at first but some of our young women are child whisperers, including sweet Emma.
We always have lots of games and running around time in the gym.
Getting them chalky!
The piano was a big hit this year! Love these two, especially my special Addie!
A lot of these kids feel right at home in the nursery plus who can pass up all those wonderful toys?
Movie time.
I have found that picture taking is a good distractor when some kids are getting to be a little too much, ha ha!
This little guy was NOT happy to be leaving. Awwww!
Anthony adores Savannah and loves to stick close to her.
We decided this would make a funny advertising picture for this event next year!
We survived...barely!
No pictures of our caroling activity this year but I did grab plenty from our young women Christmas party. We started off with some fun games - in the first one they had to draw certain pictures on the plate on their head. It was pretty funny!
The results were as to be expected! It's not easy to draw Santa and his sleigh, Christmas trees, presents, snowmen, jingle bells, and stars in the sky without looking!
I wasn't going to have this game again but some of the girls mentioned they wanted to play it so here's year two of the candy cane pickup game.
Last year it was Carolyn, this year it was her little sister Audrey. What is with these Klein girls and their amazing talent at picking up candy canes with their mouth?
Sister vs sister.
She beat everyone that she went up against. In one game she got 14 candy canes!!!
Grace rocking the two she got in her attempt.
We had a cocoa bar...
and lots of goodies.
We then did a gift exchange - Christmas socks with treats in them. The girls loved their socks! However, it's Sister Finnigan who wins the award for most excited...
and most loving of her new socks. Her expressions say it all!
