College Visits

A week off of football means it's time for some college visits! Xander had already checked out the University of Utah last summer when he visited Dave and Jackie so this week we looked at some schools closer to home. First stop - Hillsdale College up in Michigan. Since our campus tour was at 8:00 Monday morning, we drove up Sunday afternoon and spent the night. Hillsdale is just 20 minutes over the border into Michigan and, although it was a beautiful drive, it is a tiny city in the middle of nowhere.
Monday was an absolutely gorgeous day, mid 70's, no humidity. We loved walking around the campus which is small but beautiful.
Some cool things in the library.
They have a beautiful chapel.
While Xander was in his interview I wandered around taking pictures of the statues of great leaders they have scattered throughout the campus: Thomas Jefferson, Margaret Thatcher, Ronald Reagan, George Washington, Winston Churchhill, Frederick Douglass, and Abraham Lincoln.
We then met with one of the football coaches and got a tour of their athletic facility as well as the stadium.
Next up was Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati which included a football visit. They seemed VERY interested in Xander and we really liked what we saw.
It was such fun to see a locker with his name over it and that he got to try on a jersey!
We also checked out Ohio St. though Xander isn't as serious about them.
Not our favorite stadium, ha ha! We're still a bit bitter about our loss to them in the Rose Bowl.
I could not believe how huge the campus is!!!
It's hard to believe that it's already time to do this!
