The first scrimmage of the season is always against Kings, this year at our field. We are super excited to get Xander's senior season of football started!
We were thrilled when Noah decided to get back into football! He's all suited up in defense blue.
Xander pre-scrimmage...
Love seeing that smile! Xander has been so excited to get back out on the football field. David and I, however, were a tad bit nervous to see how his knee would hold up.
Xander's new position - left tackle.
With Varsity playing on the left, JV was on the right side of the field. He's playing outside linebacker and got some reps.
Getting coached up by Coach Ullery. Xander did fine, the knee looked good, lots to learn in this new position.
Kellan joined us on this rainy morning after his own football practice.
Friday night scrimmage at Mason. We started the evening off with dinner at Qdoba - yum! Heidi and I doing our best high school girl picture impressions.
I still can't figure out why they think sticking their tongues out is attractive in any way!
We are ready!
Mason Moments:
- the lady choking on popcorn that was thankfully resolved before Ryan had to perform any medical procedures
- our huge praying mantis buddy
- an absolutely beautiful evening for football
- extremely nervous watching Xander, hoping his knee would do ok
- walking by the locker room at half time and being hit with the most horrendous smell as the door was opened
- Xander doing a great job in his new position
- Xander having problems with his contact and having the trainer as well as another player trying to help him with it
- Noah getting in for a few reps
We walked away with a tie, 20-20. Feeling optimistic about the season!
I must make mention of the first injury of the season - a finger to the eye that caused bruising and was the reason behind the contact problem!
