Celebrating the 4th

We love celebrating the 4th and the remarkable birth of our great nation! We spent a lot of the day swimming, of course. Savannah and McKenna sporting the classic "George Washington" for this great day.
Xander is slowly but surely perfecting his backward dive.
After a yummy dinner we gathered to commemorate the day with a special program given by Grandpa. To kick it off the kids received patriotic hats and flags to carry into the family room.
We love the USA!
We sang some songs, including The Star Spangled Banner.
Grandpa then told us two lesser known stories about the Revolutionary War and then gave each family a copy of The Declaration of Independence.
After the fabulous program we headed out to the back deck to enjoy some of Grandma's famous homemade rocky road ice cream. YUMMY!
The kids spent some time on a little artwork in the driveway so we took some time to check out their patriotic masterpieces.
Noah and his soldier.
And then it was time for some sparklers!!!
Happy Birthday, America!!
