Keepin' Busy

Church youth activities and scouts keep our kids busy doing worthwhile things and I love it! The Edgewood High boys basketball team made the playoffs and had their first game up in Aberdeen. One of the young men in our ward, Rayshod, plays for the team and of course a few of our youth go to both Edgewood and Aberdeen so we decided to make his game our youth activity for the night.
It was SUCH an exciting game! Edgewood was able to pull out the win which obviously made my family super happy - Go Rams! Other than the brawl that almost erupted between the two teams and fans at the end of the game, it was a fabulous night!
After the game the young women quickly headed up the street just a bit to "heart attack" Akua's door. Akua was one of our young women but then she and her family ended up moving outside our ward boundaries toward the end of last year. We wanted her to know we think of her often and miss her a ton!
For another activity we had a spa night where we learned how to take care of our beautiful faces! Emma even made a facial scrub for us to try.
Attempting to wash it off in the bathroom.
While the young women ran around the ward building with facial masks on, the young men were providing a wonderful service making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the nearby shelter.
Xander, Savannah, and I hang out at the church on Tuesdays; Noah is there on Wednesdays for scouts. For the pack meeting in March, the boys had the always-so-much-fun SPY NIGHT!
Between the laser room...
examining fingerprints...
decoding messages...
shooting at bad guys...
conducting interrogations, and collecting clues, the cub scouts have one fantastic evening!
The scouts had to put together all the clues to solve the secret message.
The secret message then told them where to find the hidden treasure. As one can see the boys were pretty excited about the treasure chest!
Enjoying some drinks and treats!
On a frigid Saturday morning in March, Noah joined the other scouts in his pack to drop off bags for Scouting for Food. He was also able to use this activity toward his Patriots Program at school.
