Our summer was filled with lots of fun activities and interesting places but some of my favorite memories were watching the kids relish the little joys that make summer so special. One day Savannah spent the afternoon creating wonderful chalk art.
Puss N' Boots...
and a list of her most attractive qualities.
Before signing up for the summer reading program at the library, we enjoyed a tasty picnic by their pond.
This summer afternoon was so beautiful and pleasant that we all decided to take a little snooze in the sunshine.
Next stop was the bridge overlooking the pond.
The kids love feeding the fish and turtles.
And the turtles love that they get fed! It's quite tasty bread!
My three cuties!
One of the best parts of signing up for summer reading is the page of coupons each person receives. We immediately headed over to McDonald's for our free hot fudge sundaes.
Tasty!
As a reward for finishing the summer reading program, we used my personal favorite coupon to celebrate - free cupcakes at the Flavor Cupcakery.
Their certificates and free books!
This summer we actually had a little garden and, surprisingly enough, it did okay. Our neighbors let us use a little space on the side of their townhouse and David planted zucchini, peppers, and tomatoes. As one can see, we had the most success with the zucchinis.
With the babysitting money she has earned, Savannah and her friends made a couple trips to the mall. Twinners! Or should I say triplets? Shopping is so much more fun with friends.
My fearless girl loves to catch the little frogs and toads that hang out around our house all summer long.
Lots of time is spent writing stories...
and drawing...dressed as a ninja. One never knows when one will be needed to drop everything and fight the bad guys.
