Good Times at Rehobath

After a long, exhausting week of soccer camp we were ready to hit the beach for some sand, surf, and sun!
And it's even better when your friends are up to the same thing!
The Pierces and Kleins - we know how to have some fun!
The kids loved playing in the crazy waves!
Seriously, one of the best pictures of the day!
Noah is ready!
Checking out the dolphins. There were a bunch that swam by throughout the morning.
There are always a TON of people at Rehobath.
I love watching Noah in the waves - he's absolutely fearless!

Time for the boogie boards.
After plenty of time in the water, the kids decided to do some digging and building.
Noah was all smiles when Audrey and Emma buried him.
These two are too grown up for the sand stuff; they're much more into relaxing in the sun. Don't say I blame them because most of my day was spent the same way.
After lunch it was back into the water!
Watch out, X!!!
He's good!
While the kids were in the water, David snuck off to get us a funnel cake, one of my most favorite treats in the whole world. Surprisingly enough, David had never had one. Of course he found it to be just as delicious as I told him it would be and we were tempted to keep it all to ourselves but, being the amazing parents that we are, we saved some for the kids.
Poor Xander...as he was sitting on the beach, enjoying his piece of funnel cake, a pigeon flew by and grabbed that thing right out of his hand! I couldn't stop laughing about it though Xander definitely did not find it funny. Noah and the girls thought they could entice the birds to take food out of their hands as well.
They weren't as successful.
Xander was very proud of his city!
And Noah and Audrey decided to dig to China.
The kids all decided to get in the water once more before it was time to leave. Greg went in with them and unfortunately a huge wave knocked him into his youngest daughter Emma who came out from under him bawling. She ran up to us on the beach, holding her upper arm and continuing to cry from the immense pain she was obviously in. Poor Greg felt so bad and kept apologizing to her and we were all trying to make her feel better but she was clearly very hurt. They ended up taking her to Patient First a little later and she had a broken upper arm. Such a bummer way for such a fun day to end. On our end it was a long drive home due to traffic and a huge accident and we were all clearly tuckered out...

but we sure do love our beach days!
