Wacky Water Olympics

One of the days we were there, Heidi watched four of her friend's kids while her friend was in New York with her oldest daughter. We wanted to do something fun with all the kids so we came up with the idea of the Wacky Water Olympics. Of course the Olympics must start with a parade and Heidi was all too happy to get it going!
Those kids followed Heidi like she was the Pied Piper!
Seriously, does a picture get any better than this?
After the parade we had the kids do a group jump into the pool...
and then it was Heidi's turn to pull off a solo. I think she did it spectacularly!
Next was an individual race across the pool...
followed by a race to see who could fill up their bucket with water the fastest!
Dad came out to introduce the next event - the weed pulling relay!
Although technically it's not a water game, this event had been mandated earlier that morning as a prerequisite for swimming that day so we turned it into something fun.
Each kid would pull 20 weeds and then tag a teammate who ran out and pulled 20 more and so on. There were two teams and by the time the event was finished (and we ran it three times ) the back area was virtually weed free!
Pulling weeds definitely brought on the sweat so the kids were all too happy to get back in the pool for a two-person race.
Winners!
The toughest challenge of the day - rolling with the crocodile. Aunt Heidi fought that croc to show the kids how to do it.
Look at her roll!!!
It was definitely harder than it looked but Xander seemed to get the crocodile under control.
There goes Savannah...
and little No!
We finished off the day with hand paddle races.
Hanging with this little cutie!
A Nacho dive from Noah!
Ice cream treats for all these cute competitors!
Goofy picture!

It was definitely a fun way to spend the day!
