Halloween Festivities 2016

It has been a few years since we've taken the kids to an actual pumpkin patch to pick out pumpkins so we decided this was the year! Unfortunately we didn't make that decision until late in October and the only day left was a Saturday when Xander was away on a camp out. He said he didn't mind missing as long as we picked him out a really great pumpkin. The four of us had a great time: the weather was beautiful and the pumpkins were still plentiful.
We even got to ride a wagon out to the patch!
Noah had to test out quite a few before making a decision. I don't know exactly what his qualifications were but he did a lot of picking up and a lot of swinging.
Using her muscles on a lot of these big ones!
Hey, Mom, check out the one with warts!
Can she lift it???
She is one strong girl!
We finally picked our perfect three!
The wagon ride back took us all around the fields and orchards which was pretty cool.
Once back we took a few cheesy photos and then stopped in their store for some apple cider and cider donuts. Those were absolutely heavenly!
Later that evening was our ward Trunk or Treat. I wasn't feeling it this year so I stayed home and Xander would be arriving back from his camp out sometime during the evening so it was only David, Savannah, and Noah that I sent off to the party. They looked good!
And of course we barely got the pumpkin carving done the night before Halloween! Thank goodness we were able to fit it in!
It's so nice that they're all old enough to do their own gutting, cleaning...
and, this year, carving!!
I loved all their designs!
Especially Noah's toothpick guy!
