Day 7 and 8: Saying Goodbye to France

We were absolutely drenched and freezing cold after our wet afternoon in the Versailles gardens but we were able to dry out and warm up at the wonderful home of the Touzars. David had baptized this family while serving his mission in France many years ago and we were so excited to spend an evening with them in their home. I had met them the summer David and I got married when they and their then two children came out to visit the United States. Their kids are all grown and moved out so it was just an evening with Patrick and Claudine. They made us appetizers and a delicious dinner and we spent the evening laughing, talking both in French and English, and catching up. It was definitely one of my favorite memories from the trip!
Thursday morning it was time to head out. We took a sad selfie as we were leaving the hotel.
I am so grateful for this amazing trip and that we got to share it with our best friends!
