December Is Here!

Goodbye, Fall! Hello, bare trees of winter.
At least there are the cool vultures to look at!
Spending those cold winter nights playing cards.
And goofing off at Young Women as we plan a very magical New Beginnings for January. I told Savannah in her photo bomb she looks like Dobby peeking out.
We also had the first concert of the year - Xander's winter concert where I was delighted to discover that he was first chair for the saxophones.
He also had a speaking part, introducing one of the pieces the band was going to play.
So proud of the great job he did!
Poor Noah would actually end up missing his winter concert (which would have been his very first concert ever!) due to a severe stomach bug that made its way through the primary children of our ward. Luckily he wasn't sick during this fun scout activity - soap carving!
Noah absolutely loves this activity and begs me to buy tons of soap bars so he can carve and create!
Noah and Nathan showing off their work.
What a mess!!! But the room sure smells good!
His masterpiece!
December also ushers in winter sports. Noah and Xander did basketball again this year. Noah ended up on a team where the coach had said she might be able to help out with the team in some way...and then the league made her head coach. She confessed that she knows absolutely nothing about basketball so we'll see how this goes.
Xander's coach was one of his football coaches so that's fun. Xander going up against an old baseball teammate.
Lookin' to rebound!

And of course there's always soccer. Time to move it indoor!
Her Northern Elite team is playing in a Sunday indoor league so thank goodness the Cardiff team welcomed her to their Saturday league with open arms.
