And More Soccer...

A beautiful fall day to play some soccer!
Once high school soccer ended we turned our attention to winter soccer but Savannah's travel team just didn't seem to have anything in the works. Too many of her teammates were going to be heavily involved in winter sports at their schools which meant no time for soccer training. For my soccer girl, that just wasn't good enough!  Several of Savannah's friends play soccer for Cardiff and their team trains year round, even during the high school season. They were going to be down a few players for some fall tournaments so they asked Savannah if she would like to be a guest player on their team. Of course she jumped on it! First up, the Fallston Cup!
Savannah and her sweet friends/teammates: Payton, Emma, and Alexa. Love that blue on Savannah!
Cardiff won the tournament and Savannah got a trophy!
The following weekend they played in the Colombia tournament which was a bit more competitive. While waiting for the games to start, Shi, Sean, and I let our inner teenagers reign free.  Selfies with the lion!!
The girls struggled and unfortunately lost their first game, 3-0.
Hangin' out before the second game.

I didn't take any pictures of the second game because a storm came in and it ended up being one of the most miserable evenings ever! It was freezing and the wind was blowing ice cold rain into our faces. We parents were standing huddled together under the little awning of the snack shack; our poor girls actually had to play in it! They tied 1-1 and once the game was over, everyone ran for their car.
