Wrestling - Middletown
We were super excited for the Middletown JV Pools; I had even invited Mom and Bryan to come but they couldn't because they already had dinner plans. Well, thank goodness because it turned out to be such a fiasco! There were 4 high schools there with 4 mats set up and we had been told that each wrestler would get 2-3 matches. However, they had invited some junior high teams to be there as well so two of the mats were taken up by the younger kids, leaving only 2 mats for the high schoolers. The meet started at 5:00 and Noah didn't even wrestle until 7:30!! Coach Fred showed up around 7:00 after Varsity's practice back at Springboro and was really upset, saying that if he had known it would be like this he never would have signed us up. So, after a very long evening, Noah only got one match against a kid from Middletown.
This was definitely one of the most boring matches I've ever watched Noah wrestle; most of the match was them holding onto each other and circling around the mat.
But Noah did get one point at some point in the match and that ended up being the winning point, ha ha. He won it 1-0. Coach Brown was at the meet for his own son but he had walked over to watch Noah wrestle. He couldn't see the score board from where he was standing so when it ended he looked at me and held up fingers to indicate 1 and 0, asking if that actually was the final score. Yep! But as he pointed out later, a win is a win.
Of course right at the end Noah had some nose bleed issues that had to be addressed.
Brother Carlisle from our ward is the trainer at Middletown so he took good care of Noah.
