Cheering and Freezing

Tournament time! Savannah's Fallston Cup games started bright and early - 8:00 game time for the first one and it was absolutely freezing!!
The game ended in a 1-1 tie and we all just headed straight to our cars, no coaches talk afterwards, because none of us could feel the extremities of our bodies! Thank goodness Game 2 was a little later in the morning so it wasn't as frigid. This team had a few college freshmen playing on it and they were all pretty physical.

We fought hard but fell in a 2-0 loss. Celtic played again on Sunday but of course we weren't there. They ended up losing in the championship game to this same team that we played in the second game so Savannah got a lovely 2nd place trophy.
After freezing through Savannah's two games we were better prepared for Xander's championship game later that evening. We had hats, gloves, double socks, boots, scarves, blankets, the works! But it was a bitter cold night and by the end of it, I couldn't feel my toes. Thank goodness it was an exciting game and kept us up and down in our seats.
We played North Harford, a team that absolutely crushed us during one game in the regular season and then a closer game the second time. We were nervous but our boys were playing better than ever by this point.
It was a close game with several lead changes and ultimately it came down to the last minute of the game. And guess what? We won!!! It was SO exciting! It was so fun to watch our boys jumping around and celebrating their well-earned victory!
Champions!!
Love this football kid!
The proud parents...
This year has been so much fun and the boys have really gelled as a team. We found out after the game that they are headed to the state playoffs so we still have some more football ahead of us!
