Thanksgiving 2017

Definitely not a typical Thanksgiving for us! Since Savannah's game was in the evening, we decided to spend our day at Animal Kingdom.
We got there at opening and, since the majority of people were quickly heading to the new Avatar ride, we started our day with the safari ride and were able to walk right on.
It's always so cool to see all the animals just wandering around.
And the animals weren't the only cool things to look at!
What a neat thing to see - a baby giraffe nursing!
Trying to spot that elephant!
So many cool trees!
Savannah's favorite!
After the safari we watched the fantastically brilliant show The Lion King! It was awesome!
A stroll through Africa...
and along some jungle trails to look at more animals.
Heading over to check out what's going on in Asia!

A selfie with Mt. Everest.
We rode the rapids and thank goodness didn't get too wet!
Getting ready to ride the Expedition Everest roller coaster!
Of course Savannah had to get some ice cream to help pass the time while we waited in line.
Thank goodness there were also lots of cool things about Yetis to look at.
Including this ginormous footprint.
We absolutely LOVED this roller coaster! Savannah and I laughed and screamed almost the entire time! Savannah also loved visiting the gift shop after.

As we walked by the entrance to the ride again, we noticed that the wait time was down to 35 minutes. We looked at each other and both said, "Let's ride it again!"
More cool things to look at!
We decided to grab something to eat and were lucky enough to see Baloo!
My tasty Mickey Mouse pretzel!
A few more cool things to look at on our way out.
Time to play some soccer!

The cool soccer complex!
This is what we came for!
My soccer girl.
Our girls had one of their best games ever! They all played so tough and so fast.
In the last few minutes of the game Savannah had a fabulous breakaway with the ball but unfortunately got called for offsides. Proof that the call was bogus and she might have had a chance to score. I was NOT happy!
We were all happy that the girls walked away with a win, 1-0, with the goal by PR. Great start to the tournament, especially since it was against a highly ranked team. We even got some fireworks!
After the game we headed to Chick-fil-A and then to the hotel to get changed. As we drove by Chick-fil-A, I could not figure out why the lights were off...it was only 8:00! Then I remembered it was Thanksgiving so of course everything was closed. We decided to just grab something to eat at Magic Kingdom which was where we were planning on spending the remainder of our evening.
We hit a few rides - the Haunted Mansion, one of my personal favorites -
and watched the fireworks while we rode Thunder Mountain.
A stroll by Rapunzel's tower...
and were able to meet up with Tiana and Meng.
We finally were able to eat some dinner before we fainted from hunger and then rode a few more rides courtesy of Meng's Fast Pass tickets.
Had to meet up with Buzz again!
Can't get over how amazing the castle looked!
Such a fun evening with our friends!
It was definitely another full, FUN, fantastic day!
