Another Week of Soccer

Edgewood vs. C. Milton Wright - this was a brutal game! We ended up losing 9-1, with Savannah being the one to score our only goal.

Going up against a Celtic teammate, Emma.

I received a text from Savannah just after 3:00 on the day she had a game against Kenwood. She told me that her game had been canceled because the other team didn't have a JV team but Coach Rankin had pulled her up to play on Varsity and the game would be starting at 3:30. David and I were out the door in a flash! She was able to get some decent playing time and it was such a thrill to watch her prove to everyone there that she should have been placed on Varsity.

She fit in seamlessly and got off several shots on goals. The following pictures were all caught by the photo mom!

Although it was extremely scary at the time, this collision picture might be my all time favorite! That goalie was definitely solid and Savannah hit her like a brick wall and down she went. The amazing thing was she bounced right back up and kept playing! Unfortunately it made Coach Rankin nervous enough that he yanked her out a few minutes later to check on her and then she ended up not making it back into the game. The timing of this picture was perfect!
