Edgewood vs Harford Tech. Unfortunately I was late to this game and had to beg my way in; I truly did not want to spend $5 to watch Savannah play only 12 minutes. Plus I only had my camera phone which didn't do all that great a job capturing pictures in the late afternoon. Tough loss, 5-0.
Thank goodness the photo mom was there to capture these great pictures of Sav!
We got a good chuckle when we saw this one. Savannah has no recollection of being kicked in a very sensitive area!
I love how she's always fighting for that ball!
Edgewood vs Bel Air. It was a rainy afternoon and, because of the crappy weather, the school decided to play Varsity and JV at the same time. Of course JV got stuck with the practice field which isn't the best to play on. Nor is it easy to play Bel Air - they're a really good team and boy, do they know it. Most of the players are extremely arrogant and their parents are worse. They were totally killing us and one of the dads on the other team got so upset about an offsides call that he got tossed from the game. What jerks!
Going against Kaylyn, a teammate from Celtic.
For this game JV only had one sub so, at one point, when Savannah needed a break, she was the only player on the sideline with Coach Ross. He turned to her and said, "I don't even know what to do anymore." Yep, that pretty much sums up JV's season! It was rough!
Another loss for Edgewood, 5-0.
That week Noah and Xander both had Friday night games and thank goodness they were at the same place. The fields were right next to each other so we would spend a few minutes watching one game and then turn to spend a few minutes watching the other game. It was a spitting rain kind of night which always makes for blah picture taking so I only got a couple. Noah's team played super tough but ended up falling to the other team by just one point.
Xander's team, on the other hand, was really coming together as a team and was able to come away with the win.
After the game the parents on the other team were so upset about the loss and that their coach made mention that some of their problems stem from players not showing up to practice that there was a huge brawl. Yikes! Our boys were all smiles and enjoyed some cupcakes as coaches and parents tried to hurry our players to the parking lot and out of the crazy parents' way!
The following Wednesday was Savannah's final JV game of the season. They played Fallston, another dominating team, and ended up losing once again, 9-1. Yep, Savannah was the one with the goal.
She got her goal early in the second half with a break away run to the goal. It was a beautiful play and shot!
Although it was an extremely rough season for her, I am so proud of all she was able to accomplish because she never once gave up! No matter how poorly the team was playing or how badly their opponent was kicking their behinds, she kept going and gave it her all.
A former Northern Elite teammate, Allison.
Hangin' with some of her JV teammates to watch the Varsity game.
